Shizuoka B-3V with Yasnac Control MX-2: Spindle Orientation Procedure (with JPAC-C346 PCB)

This is the adjustment procedure for the spindle orientation on a Shizuoka B-3V vertical milling machine with a Yasnac MX-2 control.  This applies to a machine with the following orientation board: JPAC-C346

  1. POWER MACHINE COMPLETELY OFF.
  2. ON THE DIPSWITCH S5, SET SWITCH 1 AND SWITCH 8 TO “ON” (SWITCHES 1-8 ARE TYPICALLY OFF)
  3. SET THE ROTARY SWITCH S4 TO “1″.
  4. POWER ON THE MACHINE MAIN AND THE CONTROL.
  5. CHANGE SETTING OF PARAMETER 6219 FROM 0 TO “1″ OR “4″.
  6. AFTER ZERO RETURN OF ALL AXES, CHANGE DIAGNOSTIC #1102.7  FROM A “0″ TO A “1″, FOR ORIENTATION COMMAND.
  7. PUSH THE “CAN” BUTTON. THE SPINDLE WILL ROTATE AND THEN STOP AT THE ORIENTATION POSITION.
  8. THE NEW ORIENTATION POSITION CAN BE SET BY USING ROTARY SWITCHES S6-S9 (SETTING VALUE 0000-4095, ONE FULL REVOLUTION).
  9. PUSH THE “SET” SWITCH. THE SPINDLE WILL THEN ROTATE TO A NEW ORIENTATION POSITION. IF THIS NEW POSITION IS INCORRECT, REPEAT STEP 7 AND 8.
  10. IF THE NEW ORIENTATION IS CORRECT, PUSH THE “STO” BUTTON (HOLD IT UNTIL FLASHING STOPS). THE NEW VALUE WILL BE STORED.
  11. RESET THE DIPSWITCH S5 (ALL SWITCHES OFF) AND THE ROTARY SWITCH S4 (SET TO “0″). CHANGE DIAGNOSTIC #1102.7 TO “0″. CHANGE SETTING OF PARAMETER 6219 TO “0″.
  12. POWER CONTROL AND MACHINE COMPLETELY OFF, THEN BACK ON.
