Attention: Please read the Terms of Use for this site before proceeding.

If you find that it is necessary to adjust the G30 (Second reference Position) on a Mori Seiki with the MSG-805 Control, you must change the data on both the NC and the PC side. If you were to change only one side, the result would be and EX0116 alarm. The parameters must match in order to correct this alarm.

After performing  whatever machine repair or adjustments that are necessary (for example, the Z axis position for a proper pallet-change), you may find that the G30 position has changed. After locating what the “new” position needs to be, you can alter the parameters to match.

NC Parameter: The first parameter is Axis parameter #2038. This parameter is displayed as follows:

                               X                      Y                          Z                       4

2038                 xxxxx              xxxxx                xxxxx               xxxxx

The value is input to these parameters as a metric value with decimal point.

For example: a value of one and one-half millimeters in a negative direction from first home position would appear as: -1.500 (with decimal point).

To find parameter #2038:

  • Press the “System” key
  • Press the “NC System” soft key
  • Press “1″ and “input”
  • Press the “Set up” soft key
  • Press “Y” and “input”
  • Press the “Axis” soft key.
  • Press the “Page Down” key until the page with parameter #2038 is shown

PC Parameter: The other parameter is found under PLC and is one of the following:

X axis: 6321

Y axis: 6322

Z axis:  6323

The value for these parameters are carried to the third decimal point but omitting the decimal point.

For example: a value of minus one and one half millimeters would appear as -1500 (no decimal point)

To find parameters #6321-6323:

  • Press the “System” key
  • Press the “NC System” soft key
  • Press “1″ and “input”
  • Press the “Set up” soft key
  • Press “Y” and “input”
  • Press the “Menu” soft key
  • Press the “PLC” soft key
  • Press the “Page Down” key until the page containing parameter #6321-6323 is displayed.
