CNC Repair Tip #5: EX1047 Machine Spec. Parameter Cleared: Setting PC Parameters on Mori Seiki M-300 with Fanuc Control 0-M

Attention: Please read the Terms of Use for this site before proceeding.

Recently I had a email request for assistance with a Mori Seiki M-300 with a 0-M control. The details offered in the message were sketchy, but basically this is what happened: There was some sort of data loss issue with the machine and the PC (or machine-side) parameters had been cleared. On this machine with a Fanuc 0 series conrtol, some PC parameters are enetered in the PARA/DGNOS section of the control.

There was an alarm on the screen: “EX1047 Machine Spec. Parameter Cleared”.  The majority of the PC data was re-entered with no problems, but several woul not “take”. That is, when values were entered, the values would reset to “0″ when the INPUT key was pressed. These parameters were DGN 662, DGN 663, DGN 667, and DGN 668. The EX1047 alarm remained as a result.

I had dealt with this many times in the past during machine repairs, but it was a long time ago and I couldn’t remember the answer. I contacted an old friend who reminded me. This is what was is required to change the parameters mentioned: Under the AUX/GRAPH key, enter “76543210″ then <INPUT>. You will be prompted with a question like “Write To Parameter?”. There will be soft-key selections for YES or NO. Choose YES. Then go back to the DGNOS/PARA key and make the changes to the parameters as needed.

I asked the customer to try this suggestion and here is his reply: “I say very very thanks to you. For your information our machine is getting on and now its working condition. I need your supports at any time and i will touch with you.” Apparently, the guy was successful in fixing the problem.
